Hello, there! And thank you for visiting our new blog!

I'm Des, Retired Air Force, 22 years and some months. I enlisted at age 17 and spent my adult life serving. One day my Chief goes, we should have a patch, Check of the Month Club. He'd say that a lot as people retired or separated medically. Years later now that I'm a member, I decided to run with his idea. For a while after retirement, especially since it was during the Covid19 lockdown, I felt forgotten. 3 years into navigating as a civilian has had its challenges as well. I still wonder if others experience the same things. Life is completely differently from what I was used to. The purpose of this site, RetVets.com, Veteran Pride AND, The Check of the Month Club is to recognize retired veterans, veterans in general and hopefully create a community of those of us now moving differently. Ultimately, my goal is for all veterans to be seen, heard and understood. 

I'm hoping to hear more about our lifestyles now as well as our hobbies - among other things, but generally about enjoying life as a retired veteran. Not only that, there will be product reviews and recommendations, and occassionally deals and discounts to offer as well.   

Why did we start blogging?

The truth is that the extent of our business goes far beyond simply selling our branded merchandise, we want to blog about living our best lives! A part of it includes products we might need to support our goals and hobbies, and we want to offer help where we can, such as in our veteran deals.
